It was ok
There were a few things in here I found helpful but overall it was short and most of it was obvious. The narration was good and easy to listen to. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Good for people new to conversations
If you are super shy and are just learning how to talk to people then this is a good book for you. If you are looking to expand on talking with people or start new conversations then I would recommend trying a different book.

short and to the point
Sometimes it's good when you get insides and see how every step works and why. but sometimes you just want the ideas and the tips. And that is why this book is good instead of 6 - 10 hours book, you get as much information in just one hour. thanks for the knowledge and thanks for saving us time!

Okay
The first half of the book paired any suggestion on how to get better at small talk with an excruciating amount of review of the pain associated with doing it badly.
People buy this book because they do it badly. We all know what it feels like to have social anxiety. I do not feel that part was useful.
At the chapter starting with listening. It did improved. And got better as the book went on. Glad I stuck with it.
At that point there were plenty of good recommendations on what to do when. I do wish that it had had some more examples of conversations.

Better than writing it on your sweaty palms
Need some quick social brilliance but your brain is locked up?
Need actions to practice so you can feel confident when things get social?
Need that robotic part of your brain to take over from your stammering befuddled self?
THEN THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU! It's a stop gap measure to aid you in field relationship triage, but nothing more.
My feelings about this kind of instruction are that it is FANTASTIC at turning you into the author! You may find it provides great value for you in understanding social norms you may have found vague and un-obvious, but depending on wrote actions and responses can't convey your own uniqueness and values. The best thing about you is that you are you, don't cover that up with bad acting and scripts.
So, if the first paragraph in this review made sense to you, then buy this book! But if you found the second paragraph resonated more with you, you are far better off reading books about what you are putting into your brain that is making you curious enough to read about this book. Pick up the classic "As a man thinketh" and let your journey to being the real you begin from there!
I was given this audio book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Just okay.
I received a free copy of this audio book in exchange for an unbiased review. If I had to guess, I'd say this started out as a blog post and then the author decided to pad the word count in order to turn it into this (very short) book. There's a few decent, basic tips on how to be more comfortable and less awkward in small talk conversation, but nothing comprehensive or world-changing. The same information could have been communicated with half in probably half the amount of words. It was a quick and easy listen though and the narrator did a fine job.

Direct tips to improving small talk
What did you love best about Small Talk?
It's a real direct approach, no stalling around any of the topics, so although it's a short book, it's packed with good strategies.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
More examples of common situations and how to handle them would be a good path to improve the book content.
What about Corinne Phillips’s performance did you like?
Solid performance, haven't heard any problems.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
This isn't the kind of book that becomes a movie...
But it could easily become a course, and the original title would fit well.
Any additional comments?
Easy listen, very light hearted, could relate to some situations that I have experienced, specially the infinite talks about the weather! I would recommend to anyone who want to get deeper connections using small talk.

Good listen.
Some good ideas and advice given just a bit to shallow for my taste.

Talks using a question
Great information but it was very difficult to listen to as the reader talks using a question tone.
