When did it become a harder time instead of the delight that “they” say it is supposed to be? When did November through the beginning of January become a time to get through instead of something which makes you giddy? What made all the decorations and gatherings become something to endure rather than impetus to ooh’s, ah’s and put-on holiday happiness?
You are invited to a different sort of Christmas season. Perhaps, in certain ways, a more blessed one. Even when there is pain and difficulty. Maybe especially so. 77 devotions, ruminations and prayers to carry you one per day (or any way you see fit) from October 22nd through January 6th. No pressure to do anything like you have done before or to acquiesce to any other person’s standards. Instead, here is help to seek God like the Wise Men.
If you dare, God will not only get you through this hard season, but it will become a vital part of your journey, which is going somewhere. For when everything else is stripped away, Only Jesus Remains. It is He who is your sole hope for understanding life more. For increased inner peace. And even a return to joy. Richer, more God-focused life in the midst. Both now and forever.
