Absolutely terrible- and I love my guilty pleasures

So I love a sexy funny romance as much as anyone- I am no snob and enjoy Dannika Dark, Christina Lauren, etc. I like fun and entertaining books while I am working out. So when I saw this book and how many amazing reviews it had, I had to buy it!

But I absolutely hated it and just returned it. The ENTIRE book plays out in Rachel's head, and what a tedious and boring place that is to be. Basically it is one long drawn out lusting-over-saint diatribe. There is nothing about Rachel - at all- that is likable. Good God girl, get it together.

Good books need action- tension- and a bit of brains to hold the whole thing together. This book was an absolutely painful gush fest over a hot and rich dude- told by a woman who calls herself a "slut" for masturbating! In a book called Manwhore! A woman who gets up to wash her hands afterwards. If it had been a physical book I would have thrown it across the room.

So basically the whole book is one long internal dialogue about a super hot guy, as told by a woman who seems to lack a few too many brain cells to care about. Even though I love my books guilty pleasures, this one was dull and excruciating.

Gold! But be warned....

This book rocked my world. A great start to a new series but be warned, dear listener, this audiobook has a cliffhanger ending that will leave you hanging like none other! It's worth the blue book balls though! Buy it, you'll be glad you did!

OMG!!! Another cliffhanger? C'Mon!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this book because it's a boring, disappointing cliffhanger. I'm returning this book post haste b/c I have no doubts that the ensuing books could have been combined too make 1good book.

What could Katy Evans have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

This book could've been more enjoyable w/o the repetitive, predictable inter-monologue, sure to be found in book 2. Thus proving, cliffhanger unnecessary.

C A U T I O N ........ DO NOT MISS THIS BOOK

With a title like Manwhore who isn't going to be intrigued and tempted but the one thing I never bargained for was to be TOTALLY consumed and blown away by this listen. A listen where I expected to have no pity for the hero but instead I was filled with respect, hope and awe for him and it was the heroine who I resented, who I begged to tell him the truth and who I then pitied because she could of maybe had it all.

This was a listen that I hated to be drawn away from and relished every word.... except the unexpected words "to be continued" and that has made me depressed, desperate.... and dangerous until I get my hands on the next instalment.

Worth a credit? Told from the heroines POV, the narration was great and I would gladly have spent 2 credits on this wonderful, cruel and sexy listen.

Great Story

I think this book was well written. The characters are believable. I'm impressed that the author didn't immediately throw them together sexually. My only complaint is that this is yet another series. Frankly I'm getting tired of having to wait for a good story to finish up. I must say that it's worth the credit, hopefully the next book is out soon.

Awful

This book was a cross between 50 shades and Crossfire. The slow parts of each. It was a chore to complete. Zzzzzzzzz!

Weak.

Story is small and repetitive. Protagonist is unbelievable as a journalist and as a community volunteer. Unimaginative fabulously wealthy hero. Weak all over.

WHY were there so many stars on this?

I am suffering. Each day when I look at my Audible screen and see that I have HOURS left of this dreadful work. I want to erase it from my library, but I have no credits right now, so I suffer. I keep hoping for some redemption, but I should know better, after all the BAD writing and copying from Shades of Grey. This is torture. I almost want to start a funding campaign to earn enough to buy myself some new credits so that the pain will end.

I so wanted to like this book. I was looking for a light, fun vacation read. It just such drivel that it's intolerable. Seriously, how long am I supposed to listen to this girl debate about whether or not she should sleep with the guy and then beat herself up over it? Just awful. I guess I got what I deserved for getting a book with this name.

Wanted something spicy but this was rough. The worst part- it was boring. Stopped it early, and moved on to something else.
