    The first third is a great and interesting discussion of a pretty bog-standard Munchausen by Proxy case, well told and well delivered, but the book gets weighed down once it becomes fascinated with the lives of the lawyers prosecuting the case. I really don't need multiple chapters on the political leanings and career of an unremarkable DA. Felt padded and plodding.
