The news of having a child through the miraculous plan of God beyond what is natural is extraordinary to us. Imagine back then Mary hearing the announce of Gabriel about this plan of God that involved her. There were many things that would pushed her to doubt the plans of God. How it would have derailed all her plans. Nonetheless, what a blessing it is to be chosen by God and to receive His favour. What was true of Mary is undeniably true of any children of God.

In the sight of God, John the Baptist was rendered as great. This was before he was even born. What was it that made John great? In our society, greatness is defined differently. A person is great because of notable achievement. However, God clearly defines greatness never apart from Him. In this study, we’ll explore greatness under God’s terms as we continue on in our study of the Gospel of Luke.

In this sermon, Luke begins his account of the life of Christ with the event prior to the Virgin Birth. He records the encounter of Zechariah and Elizabeth. What seems improbable with man is avenue that God uses to emphasize His glory and His plans to reconcile with His people. Though man is bound to perennially forget God. He, one the other hand, remains faithful without fail to his people.
