A Warhammer 40,000 Audiobook

Gryphonne IV is dead – one of the mightiest forge worlds in the arsenal of the Adeptus Mechanicus, succumbed to the relentless hunger of Hive Fleet Leviathan. Devoured. Lost.

The few magi that survive drift in idleness, robbed of purpose and direction. But there is one who rejects that fate.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It’s the gripping tale of an Explorator desperately seeking ancient technologies from humanity’s past as she races against time to restore one of the mightiest forge worlds in the Imperium.

THE STORY

Explorator Talin Sherax seeks ancient and miraculous technologies from humanity’s distant past. When she learns of a fabled relic that could restore all that has been lost, Sherax embarks on a journey, the outcome of which could change everything. Nothing will stand in her way… even if the quest brings her to the brink of heresy.

Written by Jonathan D Beer. Narrated by Colleen Prendergast. Runtime 10 hours and 47 minutes, approx.

The book is quite decent, but nothing extraordinary; there are some nice moments and some nice plot points here and there, but overall the story is pretty bland for the scope it sets itself in

Narration wise, it is very monotonous, and I cannot decide if it is a decision from the narrator to hammer the "Mechannicus" feeling in, or simply the reader's natural way of reading. But, overall, this reading style does not really help to remain focused on the story.

It's decent if you really like the Mechanicus and want more of it, or if you are discovering 40k and want something slightly different than the usual Space Marine or Guard centric book. Otherwise, I don't really recommend.
