Description
CinderGirl is the riveting story of one young woman's determination to overcome abuse and hardship in order to help others find hope in their own difficult circumstances.
Born into a large working-class family in upstate New York, Christina Meredith endured years of abuse before entering the foster-care system as a teenager. With nowhere to turn after she graduated from high school, Christina lived in her car for almost a year, working three jobs to survive.
As she prayed in her car every day, Christina had no idea that in just a few years she would be crowned Ms. California. She had no idea her suffering would one day help others find healing. But she did know she was destined for more, and she would not give up hope no matter the circumstance.
In CinderGirl, Christina tells her piercing and poignant story of leaving behind homelessness to become Ms. California and the founder of a nonprofit organization that provides advocacy for foster-care children.
With stunning vulnerability, Christina invites us into her childhood home and the heart of a child longing to be loved. She invites us to dig deeper into our own personal courage, even in the most grim of conditions. She asks us to journey with her across the country and deep into a growing faith. And in return, you'll embrace the inherent worth that is yours in Christ Jesus.

A Reader's Comments
The memoir of Christina Meredith is absolutely powerful and an inspiration for victims of child abuse. As I read I felt the wounds from my own childhood abuse heal, that means a lot to victims of child abuse. Please share this memoir with children in the foster care system and those that have experienced child abuse.

Excited to start, couldn’t finish
I’m sure her story is wonderful! It’s incredible she has the courage to write a book. I don’t know the cost to publish a book and audible book. In my opinion it seems poorly edited and the narration should have been professional.

CinderGirl-Terrific!!
Christina has an absolutely beautiful and gentle soul sharing her hearts journey and burdens for Gods creation. The last 40 minutes of the book are especially wonderful as her words sank deep into my heart, Tears flowed as I was inspired, yet grieved for my own sufferings of abuse. It is if she were right here with me sharing and saying "You will be OK. You will persevere. God is with you. Anything is possible." using biblical verses to encourage me over and over. Christina feels the pain inside each one of us that have suffered and persevered through abuse, trials, hardships, being vulnerable herself.
If you are reading this wondering......... eh, should I really get this book after listening to the audio-sample. YES! You should. It will change, inspire, and help encourage you in many ways! Buy this book for yourself and share with friends, parents, small groups, pastors wife, co-workers, etc. They too will love it. God is so good and I am so thankful for Christina's strength and courage to write a book and share her testimony!
Romans 5:3-5 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Courageous
I had a hard time at first with the author's cadence in her reading. She had the same sentence cadence throughout the book and at first it was irritating. But I became captivated by her story and finally didn't let it bother me. It's amazing what some people go through in their lives and how they don't get rescued for years. So sad. I want to go rescue all kids treated like this. I'm so grateful for her faith all throughout the book and for the people who did help her. She's a survivor and conqueror! Really glad she shared her story. She's a good writer.

Heartbreaking and inspiring
This ebook is incredible! It left me in tears and was by no means an easy book to listen to as it covers child abuse. But it is a story of perseverance and it is very inspiring. I will be recommending this book to my friends!

Resilience and redemption
It is really interesting and encouraging to read this book where you can marvel at the resilience this child who had to survive some horrific abuse, especially from her mother. I recommend it as is important to know how someone managed to survive all the ugliness that can come your way.
Sadly I must say it kind of looses tone toward the end, right when life seems to get marvelous and she collects recognition, mostly because of the “christianese” language she suddenly employs. I am a Christian and I totally agree that God saves people and works miracles of redemptions but somehow all these set phrases accomplish quite the opposite for the reader, and water down the power of this testimony. The testimony and the written style loose, in my opinion, what was a very strong testimony if it would have keep the same pace all along.

A very moving read!
One of the best books I have ever read! I work in child welfare and have interacted with children similar to Christina Meredith. She is such an inspiration to former foster youth, children currently in care, and to all those that work with that population. Christina Meredith is a blessing!
