Well mamas… I HAD THE BABIES! 🩷💙
This week's episode is a day late because what started as contractions on Sunday afternoon turned into a trip to the hospital—and we came home with TWO babies in our arms!
And honestly, I couldn't think of a more fitting scripture for this season:
“When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” — Psalm 61:2
Motherhood can be overwhelming. We worry about our babies, our teenagers, our marriages, finances, health, our mistakes, and whether we're doing enough.
But maybe faith isn't about becoming so strong that we're never overwhelmed.
Maybe it's about becoming so familiar with Christ that when we are overwhelmed, we know exactly where to go.
In this week's Come, Follow Me Moms episode, we're digging into some of the most powerful Psalms for motherhood.
We talk about:
-
❤️ What to do when your heart is overwhelmed
-
🙏 Why we can pour out our whole heart to God
-
❤️🩹 Why struggling doesn't mean you're failing spiritually
-
✨ Mom guilt, repentance, and beginning again
-
🩷 Teaching our children repentance by letting them watch us apologize and change
-
❤️ Elder Peter F. Meurs's powerful message “He Could Heal Me!”
-
✨ President Russell M. Nelson's teachings on repentance and becoming better through Christ
-
🙏 What to do when God feels far away
-
🧠 Why remembering what God has done before can strengthen our faith now
-
👩👧👦 Why moms are the rememberers in our homes
-
📖 Teaching our children God's stories AND telling them our own stories of faith
-
❤️ “I will declare what He hath done for my soul”
Psalm 51:10, 12 — “Create in me a clean heart, O God.”
Psalm 61:2–3 — “When my heart is overwhelmed…”
Psalm 62:8 — “Pour out your heart before him.”
Psalm 66:16 — “I will declare what he hath done for my soul.”
Psalm 69:1–3 — Turning to God when we feel like we're drowning.
Psalm 77:11 — “I will remember the works of the Lord.”
Psalm 78:4–7 — Teaching the next generation so they will “set their hope in God.”
Psalm 86:5 — The Lord is “good, and ready to forgive.”
Talks mentionedPresident Russell M. Nelson — “We Can Do Better and Be Better”
Elder Peter F. Meurs — “He Could Heal Me!”
This week's invitation ❤️Ask yourself:
What has God done for my soul?
Think of ONE story—an answered prayer, a miracle, a prompting, a time He carried you, forgave you, or gave you strength.
Then tell your children.
It doesn't have to be a formal Come, Follow Me lesson. Tell them at dinner, in the car, or while you're putting them to bed:
“Did I ever tell you about the time Heavenly Father helped me when…?”
Because maybe motherhood isn't about raising children who never struggle.
Maybe we're raising children who know where to turn when they do.
When their hearts are overwhelmed — go to the Rock.
When they mess up — go to Christ.
When God feels far away — remember.
And when they see His hand —
declare what He hath done for their souls. ❤️
