Module 7 addresses a moment that can leave parents feeling helpless and frightened: when your child completely withdraws. Maybe they stop talking, avoid eye contact, stay in their room, or disconnect from everything around them. It’s easy to assume they don’t care, don’t want support, or are shutting you out on purpose — but withdrawal is often a sign of overwhelm, not rejection.

In this module, we explore what’s really happening when adolescents disengage, why withdrawal can be a coping strategy, and how to tell the difference between needing space and shutting down completely. You’ll learn how to stay connected without pushing too hard, how to offer support without demanding conversation, and how small gestures can mean far more than big, emotionally heavy talks.

We also look at gentle ways to encourage re-engagement, what “small wins” actually look like in these moments, and the signs that withdrawal may have crossed into crisis and needs a more urgent response. You’ll hear practical, steady guidance on how to step in without breaking trust.

By the end of this module, you’ll feel clearer, calmer, and more confident in how to stay present for your child — even when they seem unreachable.
