Why are people like this? Why is life so hard? And why do the worst people always seem to have the loudest opinions? I’m back, and welcome to the new era of my podcast, Still Asking Why. This podcast is about people. It’s about the things we care deeply about but don't always get a chance to talk about. It’s about finding wisdom in ordinary places and hearing perspectives that make you think, laugh, and feel a little less alone. In this era, I’m putting people at the centre. I’ll be chatting with everyone from divorce lawyers to Egyptologists. But don't worry - this won't be a constant stream of emotional TED Talks. The banter, dark humour, and nonsense are very much staying. If you find yourself overthinking in the shower, Still Asking Why is your perfect companion. Join me for new episodes twice a month as we dive into this next chapter together.Urban Podcasts

  • Why I'm Back
    Jun 17 2026

In this episode of Still Asking Why, I sit down with my girls Tan and Shiv to dive into the wild, varied, and deeply honest opinions sent in by you, the listeners. From the nostalgia of our very first jobs to the heavy, controversial realities of modern life, we explore why people hold the views they do, how our own upbringings shape our perspectives, and why a little bit of banter is absolutely medicinal.

    What You’ll Discover

    - The Nostalgia of the First Paycheck: A look back at the hustle of our first jobs - from Notting Hill Carnival food stalls to local laundrettes and what today's generation is missing out on.

    - The Great Overpopulation Debate: Why the blanket statement "people need to stop having children" completely misses the mark on wealth inequality and the innate human drive to build a future.

    - The Reality of Immigration and the "Pinch": A deeply personal conversation about why it's so easy to blame the underdog for a lack of resources, and why we have more in common with immigrants than the elite.

What really stood out to me is how much we overcomplicate our shared humanity. We spend so much time arguing over one-line opinions on social media that we forget the context behind them. Hearing Tan and Shiv break down their own experiences and reflecting on my own journey as an immigrant was a reminder that most of us are just trying to do the best we can with the hand we've been dealt.

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering why people are the way they are, this episode is worth a listen. It might just change how you think about the person sitting next to you on the train.
