Prayer Requests 3 is a short film about Wednesday night Bible study spiraling into gossip, grape juice-fueled mayhem, and awkward confessions as six outspoken women turn chaos into connection by getting honest with God… and each other.

It continues a series that began with a simple idea: show church people as they really are... flawed, funny, well-meaning, and deeply human. Daniel Hooper reflects on the evolution of the Prayer Requests films, the inspiration behind this latest installment, and the process of building a cast from local theater productions throughout West Tennessee.

The conversation explores the realities of independent filmmaking on a small scale, from juggling schedules, last-minute casting changes, and limited resources to finding unexpected moments of comedy and authenticity once the cameras start rolling. Along the way, it touches on collaboration, world-building across multiple films, memorable performances, and the relationships that have formed through years of creating projects together.

More than anything, it’s a reflection on why these films are made in the first place... to tell stories, bring people together, leave something behind for future generations, and create work that audiences can see themselves in long after the cameras stop rolling.
