The Rays get swept by the Tigers, losing 7-2 in the series final. It was another slow start for the Rays. For the 3rd straight game the Rays found themselves down after the first inning. But the Rays would answer on a Yandy Diaz RBI single to tie the game at 1. The Tigers would add another run in the 2nd inning to make it 2-1. Then Cedric Mullins belted a solo homer to tie it at 2. That would be the last the offense would muster. The game got broken open in the 4th inning on a 3 run homer by the Tigers that made it 6-2. Nick Martinez started for the Rays and had his worst start of the season. He only went 4 IP giving up 6 runs. The Rays will have a much needed off day before heading to Miami to play the Marlins starting Friday night.
