Episode 4: Building the Practice You Love
Most attorneys can tell you exactly what they do. Very few can tell you why they do it, or what they are ultimately building toward. That gap, between activity and intention, is where most law practices get stuck. This episode is about closing it.
In this episode I cover Chapter Two of Time Management for Attorneys by Mark Powers and Shawn McNalis. Your personal vision and your professional vision are not the same thing. This chapter is about building the second one, and understanding why the gap between what you say matters most and how you are actually operating is one of the most revealing exercises a practicing attorney can do.
I go deeper on The Green Beret Way by LTC Robert W. Schaefer, and the concept that discipline dies without purpose. Identify your answer to “WHY” this area of law matters to you at a level deeper than income or convenience.
