Still clutching the open book, Luna faces her double, whose prophecy of doom hangs in the air. The other Luna reveals that this library is a living entity, once a woman condemned to house every story ever told. At her touch, the brass key reforms into a simple iron ring, and she offers Luna a choice: leave forever, or stay and become the next library. But when Luna tries to step away, she finds the corridor has folded into a loop, and the iron door now stands behind her, not ahead. A whisper from the shadows speaks her name—the first time the library itself has addressed her directly. This episode deepens the central dread of predestination versus free will, and ends with Luna standing in a room of mirrors, each reflection showing a different version of her story, only one of which leads out.
