 Summer 2021, just past midnight, at the Red Ridge Trailer Park outside a town called Dry Fork, Wyoming. Luna's car broke down on the way to a friend's cabin, and a man named Harlan — the park's unofficial handyman — offered her a place to wait for a tow. Harlan was quiet, gentle, smelled of sawdust and coffee. Luna sat in his trailer as he talked about the maintenance work he did around the park, the little fixes that kept things running. But as the night deepened, she started noticing things: the way every clock in his trailer read the same time, the peculiar pattern of scratches on the inside of his front door, the stories the other residents wouldn't tell. This is a story about the kindness of strangers, and the things you sense but cannot prove. It's about a summer night that stretched into something else, and the decision to never go back to Red Ridge.
