The Phoenix Suns enter the 2026 offseason with a bevy of questions, but there is a reality in which the answers are already on the roster. 2025 NBA Draft picks Khaman Maluach and Rasheer Fleming both showed signs of promise during their respective rookie campaigns — the Suns’ ability to take a leap in the Western Conference could hinge on their development.

PHNX Suns takes a look back at the rookie seasons of both Maluach and Fleming and spins things forward to assess the likelihood that one or both make the necessary leap in Year 2. Through the lens of potential offseason moves, young players’ development takes on an increased priority.
