 In the autumn of 2019, Luna drove through the Ozarks after a road closure forced her onto a county road that didn't appear on any map. At dusk she found Sanderson Rest, a motel with twelve identical doors—eleven white, one blue. The old man at the front desk gave her a key to room twelve, down a corridor that seemed longer inside than out. That night she heard the blue door open and close, though no one walked past her room. The next morning the desk clerk was gone, replaced by a woman who said Sanderson Rest had only eleven rooms. Luna drove away with the blue key still in her pocket, and she has never been able to find that stretch of road again. This episode is a quiet meditation on places that exist only when you need them, and the rooms we are never meant to enter.
