Good morning. Georgia. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you're greeted by 62 degrees and gray skies. We picked up about a tenth of an inch overnight. And the rain isn't done yet. Showers and thunderstorms roll through Metro Atlanta this morning, peaking around 4 P.M. With an 80 percent chance. Highs hit 71 degrees — cooler than yesterday thanks to clouds and rain. Winds stay light out of the west at 5 to 10 miles an hour. Down along the coast, patchy fog clears by mid-morning before scattered storms fire up this afternoon. Savannah and Brunswick climb to 83 degrees, with a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms between 2 P.M. and 11 P.M. Augusta splits the difference at 81 degrees with a 50 percent chance of rain and storms between 2 P.M. and 10 P.M. Tonight, storms taper off by 9 P.M. Across Metro Atlanta. Lows drop to 60 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. The coast stays mild at 63 degrees with lingering storm chances before midnight. Here's what's ahead. Monday brings partial sunshine and a return to warmth — highs climb back to 78 degrees in Atlanta, 82 on the coast. And 83 in Augusta. Slight storm chances return late afternoon. Tuesday stays warm with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s and another round of scattered showers. Wednesday? That's when the heat peaks. We're talking mid 80s statewide, with some spots flirting with 90 degrees. Record territory, folks. Thursday brings a cold front with widespread rain and breezy conditions, dropping temperatures back to the 50s and 60s by Friday. The weekend looks pleasant with sunshine returning and highs in the 60s and 70s. Don't forget — clocks spring forward tonight. You lose an hour of sleep, but we gain daylight. Sunrise tomorrow at 7:58 A.M., sunset at 7:40 P.M. See you this afternoon.
