Does anyone’s life turn out as they had planned? After graduating from high school at 14 years of age Rose planned to spend the summer hanging out with friends then head off to college in the fall. Her mother, on the other hand, had different expectations. Rose would spend the next three years as a house slave. After that she was free to do whatever she wanted.
