À propos de ce contenu audio
This episode deals with issues surrounding childhood trauma and spousal abuse.
Making friends can be hard, and the friends you do make at school could be the friends you keep with you forever. Although it can be hard to keep hold of those friends and over time you may drift apart.
Not everybody is meant to stay in touch, though. Sometimes the people we meet in our lives are meant to enrich our experiences and teach us more about who we are.
This week, Film-Ability is watching The Mighty, the 1998 feel-good tearjerker with an all-star cast. Taking two characters with different disabilities and making them friends could easily have been a bit contrived. However, The Mighty shows a nuanced and heartwarming friendship that doesn't overdo the pity.
Film-Ability is written, edited and hosted by Joel Fisher, author of Film-Ability: A History of Disability in Cinema which you can on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.
