À propos de ce contenu audio

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Vermont Weather Podcast. It's Sunday, February 22nd. Folks, enjoy your coffee slowly this morning. Because a nor'easter is loading up, and it's got Southern Vermont square in its sights. Right now you're stepping outside to 16 degrees and overcast skies. Feels quiet. Almost too quiet. That changes fast. Let's drive south first. If you're anywhere near Bennington or Brattleboro, this storm is coming for you tonight. Snow rolls in after dark, and by Monday morning it's the horizontal, can't see your mailbox kind. We're talking 4 to 8 inches by dawn. Then another 8 to 12 through Monday. That's potentially a foot in 24 hours. Gusts near 40 miles an hour will turn it into a white out. The National Weather Service has a Winter Storm Warning up. Temperatures crash to 8 degrees Monday night. Wind chills? Minus 10. Your face will know it. Now head up Route 100 into Central Vermont. You'll actually hit 37 degrees today. That's 8 above normal for February. Soak up that number, because it vanishes overnight. Snow starts light tonight, then 1 to 3 inches by Monday afternoon. Gusts to 25 miles an hour. Lows plunge to 10 degrees. Not the monster the south gets, but winter reminding you who's boss. Up in the Northeast Kingdom? You're the lucky ones. Mostly sunny skies, highs near 36 degrees. A few flurries drift in overnight. Maybe an inch or two by Monday. Lows tonight around 18 degrees. You'll barely notice this storm passed through. Here's what the week sets up. Tuesday morning feels like minus 15 in the north. Brutal. A clipper drops light snow Wednesday morning, right during your commute. Thursday brings another system, possibly snow or a wintry mix, though the track's still wobbly. Then Saturday? We bounce back to the 40s. A little reward for surviving the week. Sunrise hits 6:43 this morning, sunset at 5:32. We're gaining three minutes of daylight every day now. The light is winning. One quick thing. If you're finding these updates useful, share us with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps this going. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
