A social worker named Daniella Pina and a psychologist named Valeria Donati became convinced that there was a network of satanic pedophiles operating in the small village of Mirandola. They began bringing the area children in for interviews. The children were coerced to make up stories and soon, families were being torn apart. A priest was implicated and died from a massive heart attack when he was accused. Some parents committed suicide. The Children of Veleno, as they came to be known, were taken into foster care and their parents were left devastated. Years later, researchers and courts agree, the entire event was a witch hunt. This leaves us with troubling questions. How was something like this allowed to happen
