People of Iran, I know there is very little we can do physically from the outside, and what is happening right now is unbearable. We are praying for your safety, for an end to bloodshed, and for the downfall of a brutal regime. Jewish history teaches us something we hold onto with our lives: evil does not last. Whether salvation comes now or later, it will come. The sea does split. There will be a song again.
Our story of freedom began with one word: Vayizaku — they cried out. Crying out matters. Prayer matters. The Jewish people are a people sustained by tefillah, and our tradition teaches that the gates of tears are never closed. Hashem hears groans, hears pain, and hears truth. We are listening to your stories, we stand with you, and we pray that heavenly compassion and real, tangible help bring freedom and healing.
