It pointed them toward a man named Lloyd Welch, then serving time for child molestation in Delaware.

He was vice president of a Jersey City bank and had moved his mother, wife, and three teenage children into a 19-room home in Westfield, New Jersey. But all that changed when he lost his job. Raised by his Lutheran father to believe success meant being a good provider, List saw himself as an utter failure. Straining under financial burdens, the stress of hiding his unemployment, as well as the fear that the free-spirited 1970s would corrupt the souls of his children, List came to a shattering conclusion.

an amazing book amazingly narrated

Description
Randy Kraft was highly intelligent, politically active, loyal to his friends, committed to his work - and the killer of 67 people - more than any other serial killer known. This book offers a glimpse into the dark mind of a living monster.
"To open this book is to open a peephole into hell". (Associated Press)

Can't Finish Over the Top Grisly
This title should have a warning label.
I've read a lot of true crime but this book is way too gruesome.
I know I can't finish it nor do I wish to. It made me sick.

“The True Story of Randy Kraft.. AND MANY OTHERS”
This was a REALLY good audiobook. BUT I have to say it was more than a little hard to follow at times due to approx. 25%+ of the book dedicated to MANY people other than Randy Kraft. There are entire chapters of this book that have nothing to do with Randy Kraft. The book goes into detail about the numerous other serial killers active at the same time, and while their stories are very interesting in their own right, they could be distracting from the story of Randy Kraft which the book was supposed to be about. I gave the story only “3 Stars”, as I came away from it without a solid understanding of the start to finish narrative of the serial killer Randy Kraft. Overall definitely worth a listen, but be prepared for A LOT of the story— to be other stories.

Fast paced
This story was not one that I was familiar with. It rolled along quickly not leaving time to get comfortable. I listened to it while working on the homestead and was distracted. I am diving in again to try to catch bits and pieces I may have missed - I rarely listen to a book twice! I highly recommend this to anyone interested in true crime, especially readers who are familiar with the So Cal area, Portland, OR, and St. Paul, MN.

Exceptional True Crime. Pure evil.
As a long time, occasional true crime reader, I was shocked to not be aware of this individual. His body count and evil doing is truly mind blowing. This book is not for those with weak stomachs!

Excellent, but too long
I think that there are too many long, drawn out details of the victim’s earlier lives and relationships. While it’s important for their stories be told, the book is too long.

Too many boring details.
I read a lot of true crime, and I kept hoping this would get better as a went, but the vast majority of it is just boring and dry. No attempt is made to really get inside the killer's head, or otherwise provide insights. It's just a very rote and boring description of lots of ancillary characters who are of little interest.

Crime Thriller Fans Must Get This Book
Awesome book. I really enjoyed this book. Cringed a lot while listening to this book. Narrator did an excellent job. Had no idea someone could get away with these kinds of crimes as long as this guy did.

Flat writing, flat narrator
The writing unfortunately isn't good. It's rather flat and the story is not told in a suspenseful way. The narrator doesn't help either, he rather emphasizes the writings weaknesses.
Too bad, because in the right hands, the story of Randy Kraft could be a great true crime thriller.
Apart from all that, you can tell the book is 30 years old - but even considering that, the way the gay scene is portrayed seems hostile and biased.
