The Bimota Drinking Club — the motorcycle racing team nobody asked for.
Set against the drizzly backdrop of a 1980s Thatcherite Britain, three good mates, with more enthusiasm than expertise, decide to put together a 'proddie' racing team.
The ‘Bimota Drinking Club’ is formed, and with nothing more than a set of second-hand leathers and a shed full of rusty spanners, the search begins for both the bike, and the talented rider, who can take the team to racing glory.
This true tale of nostalgia and hope, recounts a distant era and a sepia stained snapshot of innocent youth. Set against a backdrop of biker pubs, rock nights and racetracks, the story is filled with laugh out loud humour and yearning for a bygone age, a funny and sometimes sentimental look at a cut-throat world most of us managed to avoid.
As money runs dry, rivalries flare, and the rider remains elusive, the question remains; will this band of motorized misfits find champagne glory on the tarmac, or is their racing dream destined for the scrapheap?
