Description
Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court - but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people. Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court.
As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms - and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future - and the future of a world cleaved in two.
With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas' masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

Shippers will either Love it or Hate it
When we last left Feyre, she freed Tamlin, his court and the whole of Prythian. But at the cost of killing two innocent fae. So the last book ended with Feyre having to deal with the aftermath of her actions and of dying and being resurrected as a High Fae.
If you come into this book curious about how Feyre is coping. Or wanting to know what was up with Rhysand stumbling during his last interaction with Feyre. Or what is up with the bargain he made with Feyre. Or what exactly began Tamlin and Rhys' enmity. Or what are the other courts like. Or what the hell Feyre's last name is.
Then your curiousity will be satisfied.
However, if you come into this book with a high investment on who Feyre ends up with, all I can say is that you will either be very elated or crushingly disappointed.
Personally, I like the book and its continuity with the first book. I like how the author handles Feyre's character development for this book. I don't really care much about who Feyre ends up with as I like both the guys introduced in the first book.
But from a shipping perspective, I can pretty much see how a reader rooting for one guy would be enraged or elated at how the romance department goes.
So just be prepared
Finally, I just want to comment that this title should not be under the Teen category. If you're a parent who has any plans on buying this for under 17 children, you might have reservations because this book has even more graphic sex scenes than the first book.

Great story....but too much smut :/
Pros: Great storyline and interesting plot development from book one into book two. I felt the characters, both old and new, were fleshed out well. If you liked the first book in this series, you will love this developments in book two.
Cons: Way too many graphic sex scenes. I really could've done without those--the storyline itself was strong enough that these scenes and the use of foul language seemed to cheapen the depth of the book. The descriptions were waaaaay to long and slowed down the action of the story. I was really surprised that Sarah J. Mass would include such graphic details. Sadly, it's enough to keep me from recommending this series to others. If I wanted a "romance" novel, I would buy one.

Not YA
For adults it's... okay? I don't hate it. The ideas are far from original, but the setting is interesting and I like some of the characters. The romance fell flat in this book. The whole thing comes across as a lecture in how to be a feminist boyfriend.
My main issue with this series is that it is labeled as YA and suggested for 14 year olds... despite having very graphic and at times even disgusting/raunchy sexual content.
As an adult, I enjoy some sensuality in my romance novels, but fondeling the heroine in a vouyeristic way is not something I want to see in a YA novel. This book should be moved under paranormal romance section for adults.

Is it hot in here?
I did enjoy the story ,characters and the voice actress even grew on me. I do believe this one should have an R, if not X rating. There are very detailed sex scenes. Offended ? No. Suprised? Yes. Personally, as a mom, I would not suggest this book to anyone under 18. I am hoping this is marketed as young adult, meaning 18 -25.
With that all being said, I am looking forward to the final book. Hurry up Sarah!

Better Than Book 1 of the Series
Here's the thing about this series: the plot is addictive but the writing kind of sucks. The story escalates as Feyre (that name still makes me cringe) finds out how to live in Fae and deals with all the consequences from the outcome of book one. New alliances are formed, old ones unravel, and girl gets laid A LOT. Seriously, don't read this if you are squeamish about intimacy scenes at all. The best parts of this book are the way the relationships play out and the freaking epic plot twists.
The reason I gave it 3 stars is because Maas seems to be working with a very small word bank. As in book one, characters can only click their tongues or thin their lips to show displeasure. The sex scenes all use the same awkward vocabulary. The male characters, even the less toxic ones, are very egotistic, vain, and possessive. Except Lucien, who we see far too little of. This time around, there is *slightly* more diversity with a few brown characters in the background. Still not an ideal representation of a diverse world, but better than book 1's complete whitewash of a world.
Am I going to read book 3? Yes, because as I said, the plot is utterly addictive, and by the end there are certain characters you will root hard for.

What did you love best about A Court of Mist and Fury?
Any additional comments?
Loved the book and can't wait for the 3rd book. However audible has this listed in the 11-13 "teens" category. NO WAY is this a teen book, graphic and steamy sex scenes throughout the book.

Better than Great... Outstanding!
Our story tranforms into something more than just your typical love story. Without any true spoilers: I felt a "Twilight" repeat being thrown at me in the beginning.
But then our fragile human evolves into a warrior in the Night Court. I love the characters in the night court. Just how we all imagine a house full family members interacting. Fights among each other but bands together when outsiders threaten them. The dialoge is witty and cute. The mystery of the Night Court is revealed and it's not what I thought. On a personal note I wanted more time in the Court of Nightmares. There is a good story waiting there.
We learn the flaws of all the characters. Even the perfect Spring Court has secrets. The change in our new leads was done perfectly. Not too fast or too slow. The love scenes were very unexpected. The author goes into more details with the sex scenes than any of her other books.
I giggled and cried and fell in love with the true hero in this story. I can't wait for Book 3. This sequel is better than the first book and is now one of my Top 5 of all times. However, I wouldn't suggest reading them out of order.

Whirlwind of emotions
(Long review, kinda divided into writing, narrator and story - "kinda" meaning: at least I tried 😅)
Ok, so I haven't written a review in a while and honestly, all the super positive ones as well as the negative ones kept me from speaking my mind.
I won't speak of them as much since I suppose everyone considering this one already read or listened to this one.
The first and second book honestly don't compare to this one. I've always loved the writing style and the world building, though I still don't know a few things I can definitely see everything happening so vividly in my mind! I understand how the storytelling might have seemed slow and that's still happening here sometimes but every time I thought "wait, don't you have other things to worry/think about?!" It's very quickly shown how: yes, there are more pressing matters at hand but at the same time, there are moments you have to let go of those troubles - even if it's just to stay sane and think of something else for a moment. So I enjoyed every moment of non action.
Speaking of action: Most of the real action happens in the third part of the book. At the halfway point, I was a little scared that I'd get a cliffhanger before anything even happened but no - shit goes down and you're still hanging onto a freaking unbelievable cliff at the end!
Story-wise I enjoyed it too, since everything that happened had been sort of hinted at in the previous books. (I kinda read spoilers before so some of it wasn't as surprising as it should have been)
-> I suggest you stay off of the other books and their blurbs and info on the wiki if you don't want to ruin the surprises 😅
The narrator, I've read some great and some aweful rewievs about her. I get it, sometimes the characters aren't super well distinguishable and the "low and dark" sounds of some might not come across that well... But also keep in mind that there are tons of characters with different voices and there's only one woman voicing them. The women are usually easy to tell apart, the men are sometimes a little harder when there's just dialogue. That's not the reason I took off one star though, I did that because I've heard others that had me hanging onto every word, where I'd even gone back to hear them say that line again! Ikeda had me do that in the last 3 to 5 chapters but mostly during the last three. It was like the writing, the story and her reading had me hooked. Like I mentioned, that wasn't often and mostly during this last third of the book.
The story in itself (solely this book) had me raging and pacing around, laugh out loud at some terribly inappropriate moments (in a good, embarrassed way because I felt with the characters) and squeal in anticipation and awe of what would/could or had happened 😁
Also: that ending! I literally bought credits (paused sub) to buy the next one because I can not handle how that ended! I'm kinda dying, kinda crying and kinda wanting to jump and laugh at what might be coming in the next one!
To sum it up, I'd say if you enjoyed the last two books in any way then please do yourself the favour and get this one too!

Story yes, protagonist NO
Itself the story is great and it leaves so much room for imagination as the world itself is beautiful but I cannot for the life of me get me to like the main protagonist Feyre. At first I liked her and thought she was a rather interesting character and therefor decided to listen to the second book as well but to my disappointment she turned out to be such an incredibly unlikable character that it made it hard for me to even finish the book as she became so utterly annoying. I can't get myself to continue the story as I'm afraid it'll just get worse. The book had so much potential and I had read so many great reviews about it but now I'm highly disappointed.
