À propos de ce contenu audio
Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn provides the comprehensive guidance you need to make informed decisions about having a safe and satisfying pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period–decisions that reflect your preferences, priorities, and values. This sixth edition includes:
-CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19
-Updated dietary guides and breastfeeding and surrogacy information
-Birth plans including doulas and caesarians when necessary
-Tips on how to reduce stress
-And so much more
Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn is inclusive, reflecting today's various family configurations such as single-parent families, blended families formed by second marriages, families with gay and lesbian parents, and families formed by open adoption or surrogacy. This pregnancy guide speaks to today's parents-to-be like no other.
24h, read by a voice resembling a synthesizer and packed with the whole list of diseases, issues and detailed procedures makes it more of an endurance exercise. Many parts make little sense without the pdf in front of you. It's probably good to go through a book like this once to get an idea of what can happen, but I'm not sure if I'd recommend this particular one.
On the good side, the information seems to be science and experience based. It promotes natural approaches, where science backs that up, respects people's views and limitations and not judges anyone for any decisions. There are many practical hints and tips. It also touches the hardest topics, which many books would happily ignore.
What can be annoying.is that it's heavily USA based, with imperial units all over and medical system specificity. I also don't get why the author uses both 'he' and 'she' pronouns when talking about the child. It might be inclusive, but can be also very confusing.
Valuable, but painful to listen
