Yusuf Hasan

Yusuf Hasan came to the UK from Pakistan as a young man and spent most of his working life behind the wheel of a cab. Thousands of fares, thousands of conversations, and somewhere along the way he realised the back seat had taught him more than any classroom could.

Now retired, he keeps busy the only way he knows how, by writing. His first two books grew out of the lessons he picked up on the road, about patience, grief, forgiveness and the strange honesty of strangers. He has carried on since then with fiction and human interest stories, always with the same aim: to pass on what he has learnt, and to keep learning as he goes.

Yusuf lives in the UK. He still believes everyone has a story worth hearing, if you take the time to ask.
