I am a retired modern languages teacher. I taught French and English as a Foreign Language and also learned some Spanish and Romanian. I used to organise exchanges and conferences with German, French and Romanian churches. I taught English in schools, in a Care Home and to individuals in the Franciscan Friary, now a Benedictine Abbey.I studied German BA(Hons) after The Fall of the Berlin Wall as the churches in East German did not speak English. In my retirement I researched recent German history, taught in the Probation Service and was a prison visitor. I was resident for a number of years in a Children's Home as my late husband lived in. It was through his Scout Exchange partner after the war in the early 50s that I got to know Aachen. The partner's family have become like extended family over the years and we keep in touch. During lockdown i decided to write a memoir of my spiritual journey but felt it was too personal with too much information about my relatives. Instead I decided to try fiction for the first time. I really enjoyed the project and its therapeutic nature. I wrote four books, three of which are being published by Austin Macauley.
I have used my experiences of education and travel for the lives of fictional people. I love music, have sung in a church choir. My interests are art and craft and writing poetic meditations. This is my first venture into fiction and I am so pleased that the publisher considered my books worth publishing.
