Pamela Borden Heckert

Pamela Borden Heckert was born and raised in Burlington County, New Jersey. She was a student at St. Mary's Hall for ten years, graduating in 1967. After a twenty-five year career as a registered nurse, she obtained a certificate to teach French and still enjoys sharing the language. Pam's greatest honor was to be elected a trustee emerita of Doane Academy, successor to St. Mary's Hall. Pam and her husband Clark, married over fifty years, live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She enjoys reading historical novels, researching genealogy for her characters, and being Oma to three grandchildren. She published "Alma Mater", about seven St. Mary's Hall pupils from 19th Century Canada, in 2019. "Simply Perfectly Grand" continues to chronicle the early history of the school and its founder, Bishop George Washington Doane, before following the life of a pupil, Jennie Selover. Pam's fourth biographical novel, "That's Just Capital", imagines forty years in the life of a real miner, B. F. Brown.
