Michelle Marcotte

Michelle Marcotte is a Canadian-American author and artist, living in Western NY, half a block and half a river from Canada. After a career working for both Canadian government and industry, then consulting to American companies, then a decade leading a United Nations expert committee under the Montreal Protocol. She has worked in or visited over 40 countries.

ORPHANS EVADE THE AUTHORITIES grew from her concern about living in the United States under harmful government policies, while being an immigrant. After visiting Budapest, Hungary with her family of violinists, she wrote a novel that tied those two countries’ experiences together. The picture books: WILL EVIE EVER LAY AN EGG? and CHASE THAT POLAR BEAR OUT OF THE HOUSE grew from her experiences as a grandmother of kids who all develop differently and with different interests. She is the co-author, with Joël Beddows and the illustrator of a bilingual, English and French, picture book: ABC VEGETABLES and ABÉCÉDAIRE DES LÉGUMES.
