AUTHOR

Michael Gallagher

Michael Gallagher is a Glasgow-born writer, former civil servant and recovering alcoholic. An award-winning short-story writer, he enjoys walking, singing and playing freestyle football.

His life changed dramatically when arrested in connection with the IRA's 1994 mortar bombing of Heathrow Airport. His partner, Mary Attenborough, embarked on a determined campaign to refute the case against him during a period when notorious British miscarriages of justice, e.g. the Birmingham Six and Guildford Four, were raising major questions about the reliability of the courts.

Their remarkable experience is portrayed in Unbroken: Secrets, Lies and Enduring Love, a compelling memoir of love, loyalty, perseverance and the surprising secrets that can lie at the heart of even the closest relationships. Since 2000, the couple have built a life together in north-west Donegal, jointly running a web development business while continuing to reflect on the extraordinary events that shaped their lives.
