Jodie Hampshire

Jodie Hampshire is the author and publisher of Sh!t Show, as well as Lionheart.

She writes candidly about her life experiences including as a mother of four, where she has been an adoptive parent for nearly two decades and a cancer survivor.

Her professional education was in finance, where she was a regional CEO for one of the world’s largest investment managers. Now, she is a chair, director and advisor on the boards of financial organisations as well as a leadership mentor for C-suite executives. She is also an author, speaker and meditation teacher. Over the years, she’s worked in Sydney and London, she’s been a stay-at-home mum and she once established a children’s fashion line.

With her research and logic-based training, she naturally assumed she would be able to figure out most tricky things in life without too many issues. She assumed that plenty of love and enough money could fix everything. She quickly learned how naïve she was.

She has particular expertise in therapeutic parenting, older child adoption, post-traumatic stress disorder, workplace wellbeing and mental health for leaders.

Jodie writes with honesty, humour and pragmatism. Her books are written in ten-minute snippets in bed on Sunday morning, on the bus or on a plane returning from a business trip.

Her favourite parenting advice is to be unshockable, always. Her favourite life advice is, this too shall pass. Both pearls of wisdom have been applied countless times to her life. She expects they’ll continue to be used with great regularity.

Jodie lives with her family near the beach in Sydney. Beyond her family, she is obsessed with her two King Charles cavalier spaniels, her two rescue cats, meditation, nature, popcorn with Maltesers and people with big dreams or big hearts, or even better, both.
