J P Allen

Long before he wrote about a girl who steps into ancient worlds, J.P. Allen was a boy losing himself in the stories his mother told and read to him, and later in book after book on the world’s mythologies.
A childhood ColecoVision and a certain gorilla
named Donkey Kong turned him into a lifelong gamer too, an obsession that would eventually inspire the game-world doorway Milly steps through in his own series.
After retiring, J.P. finally sat down to combine everything he'd loved his whole life — myth, history, and adventure — into Milly and Louie Roi's Adventures.

He wanted a girl to lead the charge for once, so Milly Martin was born, alongside her sharp, loyal dog Louie, named for King Louie in The Jungle Book and modelled on J.P.'s own King Charles Cavalier.

The series currently includes four books: Milly and the Shawl of Athena, Milly and the Tomb of Alexander, Milly and the Search for Atlantis, and Milly and the Genghis Khan Mystery, each one pulling Milly deeper into a world where legend and real history collide
