Harper Black

Harper Black writes dark, intelligent thrillers centered on complex Black women, buried truths, and the fragile line between perception and reality. Through the lens of Black Femme Noir, her stories explore power, identity, obsession, and the emotional consequences of what we inherit, believe, and choose to ignore.

Blending psychological tension with atmospheric storytelling, her work is known for unreliable narrators, moral ambiguity, and endings that linger long after the final page. Harper’s thrillers are as much about the interior lives of her characters as the mysteries they’re caught inside.

Originally from Detroit, MI, Harper now resides in Playa del Carmen, Mexico with her partner and two cats, Benito and Blue. When she's not penning her next thriller, she's likely on the beach enjoying the sunrise or planning her next world travel adventure.
