Elyes Abassi

Elyes Abassi started reading because he was curious. He kept reading because, before long, there was almost nothing left to read at home. Growing up in Hyères, France, once he had worked his way through his brother’s books and comic books, he moved on to the microwave and vacuum cleaner manuals. Since then, he has simply learned to choose his reading material more carefully.

Trained in linguistics and educational engineering, Elyes began teaching while still a student, launched several entrepreneurial ventures, developed his first talks, became a professional speaker and later a TEDx coach, and joined O-rigines Media as a talent. Behind these different experiences lies the same enduring obsession: understanding why we say yes when we mean no, why we put off the things we know we need to do, and how a complex idea can become genuinely useful in everyday life.

His work is about reading, connecting ideas, putting them to the test, and sharing what holds up. Drawing on practical philosophy, psychology, behavioral science, and in particular the work of Alfred Adler, Elyes remains deeply skeptical of miracle solutions and perfect lives achieved in seven easy steps.

With Faire face. Manuel pour se rendre service, he promises neither a brand-new personality nor a mandatory 6 a.m. wake-up call. Instead, he offers an intimate, witty, and clear-eyed mirror—one designed to help us recognize our patterns sooner, clear out some of the clutter within, and make decisions today that we will be proud of tomorrow.
