Elaine Mayson

Elaine's exciting book BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE is now launched! It contains wonderful atmospheric illustrations by Hristina Mazneska. She also designed the book including creative logos to enhance the pages.
In her teens Elaine visited her family in Kenya. The experience of seeing so many wild animals on the 'Masai Mara' plains left a lasting impression and one that she has never forgotten. Elaine continues to visit Africa regularly.
Her book is dedicated to saving the Elephant Kingdom. She hopes it will make a difference and be enjoyed by children throughout the world.

Elaine Mayson was born in Manchester and started dancing classes when she was 3 years old.
She went on to train at the Rambert Ballet School and to dance as a soloist ballerina for nine years with English National Ballet and two years with Northern Ballet Theatre. She also guested round the World as prima ballerina. However when she had time or was injured she went to creative writing courses and penned children's stories.
Using the Dancers Resettlement fund she retrained as a professional photographer. Elaine was asked not only to photograph the dancers but also to review the shows for dance magazines. She thoroughly enjoyed this experience and decided to continue writing in the form of children's stories.

Through dance and the magic of the theatre Elaine brings make believe to life in her writing.
Today she lives in Eastbourne with her husband Johnny.
See photos of the ballet, 'Ballerina in Danger' performed by over 80 children at Kate Simmons School of Dance in Warrington.
Choreographed by Tracey Moss.
Also Elaine signing her books. 'The Daring Dolphins and the Divebombers' at Waterstones bookshops and her book 'Ballerina in Danger' at the Brindley Theatre, where the ballet was performed on a large stage to a packed audience. Well done children!
Both books are delightfully illustrated with full colour page drawings by Katherine Lobo.
