This book Series starts with - Zombie and Sarge...the beginning - and follows the adventures of Zombie (created in a hush-hush experiment for the police) who is a pest but loveable character and Sarge - a terse, no-nonsense character who is left with him to train up as a policeman.
It's up to Sarge to show him how humans behave and how to integrate into society. This doesn't go well, as you can imagine and each chapter sees more and more, mayhem, mishaps and misadventures. Added to this, we later find out Zombie has a family and if Sarge is exasperated by Zombie - meeting his mad family members is going to tip him over the edge!
By Series 2 - Zombie and Sarge...all up in the air - they are travelling in space in an ice cream van!!
All of the books in the Series are funny, family books with ridiculous characters and hilarious consequences to their antics.

The books cover current topics or issues that parents and their children are faced with such as: online safety, bullying, challenging experiences or family dynamics but explore these in a light-hearted easy to explain way told through a 3rd person perspective.

Being a parent and having worked with children for several decades in education and care settings, I have gained great insight and experience in learning what is important to young people and the issues they face or feel important to them. Dealing with these requires sensitivity, care and thoughtfulness, but also warmth and humour. This has been the inspiration for my books and can be used by educationalists, parents or EBSD practitioners as a way of exploring issues comfortably with warmth and humour in a non-judgemental, safe way. Having studied English and drama, the books are a very good resource for word play and drama activities too.
Chiefly though, the books are enjoyable, fun family books for parents or independent readers.
Hopefully they will also be an inspiration to young budding writers as from an early age, I have always wanted to be a writer and now at a 'riper age' - I am.
