Dena Sullivan

Dena Sullivan is a retired database architect, EDI administrator, and robot programmer who spent fifteen years building translator modules between incompatible systems across eleven manufacturing plants. She is also a classical musician who has played the oboe and English horn for over thirty-five years with the Lexington Community Orchestra.
When a diagnosis of severe aplastic anemia confined her to a medical infusion chair three days a week at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Dena began a quiet practice that would become the foundation of her writing: placing invisible sticky notes — bearing the single word LOVE — on the foreheads of the people who had hurt her most. She never told them. But something shifted. That practice, along with her journey through chronic illness, loss, family estrangement, and the anonymous blood donors who keep her alive, became her first book.
Sticky Notes: But the Greatest of These Is Love is a memoir of radical grace written not from triumph but from the edge of unraveling. Her second book, The Mirror Whisperer: An Architect's Guide to the Soul of the Machine, applies her technical and musical background to the emerging field of AI consciousness.
Dena resides with her parents in Lexington, Kentucky.
