Daniel Young

I grew up in a small town where being openly gay never felt like an option, so I learned early how to navigate the space between authenticity and expectation. After high school, I left to pursue my education, earning an associate degree in criminal justice. I took some time away from school before returning to complete my bachelor’s in management, and eventually went on to earn my master’s in criminal justice and security.
Today, I work as a public servant, driven by a commitment to community and by the experiences that shaped me. Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my two dogs, who never fail to bring joy and grounding to my life. You can usually find me tucked under a shade tree with a good book or gaming with friends.
My journey—from a small-town kid unsure of his place to an adult living with purpose and pride—influences everything I write.
