Claudia Schwarzlmüller

Claudia Schwarzlmüller is a psychologist who has worked with children, adolescents, families, and educational professionals for more than 25 years. She is the founder of the Fortbildungsakademie Hamburg, where she trains and coaches early childhood educators and other professionals.
Claudia’s passion is translating children’s behavior for adults and making child development truly understandable. She reaches several hundred thousand followers on Instagram and TikTok as @kinderdolmetscher (meaning “child-translator”).
Together with Jana Altmann, Claudia hosts the podcast DieKinderdolmetscher, one of Germany’s most popular podcasts on family and parenting topics. The German edition of Claudia’s first book, published in English as Does My Child Need Me to Lead or to Follow?, reached number one on Germany’s national Spiegel bestseller list and has also been translated into Dutch, Spanish, and Italian, with other translations forthcoming.
The Kinderdolmetscher Club is her “heart” project: an online community for parents of newborns and children up to age six. Here, she guides parents toward calmer, more confident, and less stressful family life in a practical and time-efficient way.
Claudia Schwarzlmüller lives in Hamburg with her husband. Their two sons are young adults.
