Chibwe Chungu

Chibwe Chungu, Ph.D., is a scientist, author, and educator who spent twenty-five years as a plant breeder and team leader at global agricultural companies, including Dow AgroSciences, BASF, and Syngenta. Her work taught her that the best things grow slowly and need patient tending.

She learned the same lesson on the soccer field, coaching her son from age four to fourteen and watching him chase the ball with his whole heart.

Chibwe writes to share those lessons about teamwork, collaboration, patience, persistence, empathy, and growth, hoping to encourage children and adults as they learn and pursue their dreams. She founded Banyan Tree Skills Academy and co-founded ElevatePod, a podcast celebrating immigrant and minority women. A longtime Toastmaster, Rotarian, and mentor in different organizations and communities.
