Welcome to the Rift

Dylan Ryan has never been to college. He still owes $447,000 in student loans.

The debt belonged to his parents before they died, transferred to Dylan at the ripe old age of eleven. He's been drowning in it ever since.

When the largest federal contractor in the country offers him a way out—sign here, start Monday, full debt forgiveness in less than six months—Dylan can't sign fast enough.

Neither can his best friend Rosaria. Neither can Lauren, the HR rep who once wrote him up for being late and is now holding a plastic wand that shoots fire.

The elevator goes up and they're whisked away to the Rift, a monster-filled realm with a stat system that tracks every kill. They're given weapons they don't know how to use, assignments they can hardly fathom, and spoonfed loot lore by a brainrot AI desperate to keep them entertained.

Even worse, their assumed target, the Demon Lord, is actually the contractor's most valuable partner...

Armed with a trash-tier build, a team held together by gallows humor, and the kind of desperation only six figures of inherited debt can buy, Dylan has one goal…

Claw his way back to zero.

Because in this economy, being broke isn't just brutal—it's fatal.
