Trinity Calhoun Mystery

Two decades ago, Trinity Calhoun's best friend—eighteen-year-old Savannah Stuart—went missing. Just weeks later, Savannah's body was found brutally slain outside the mountain town. With no suspects or leads, the local authorities dismissed the murder as a tragic one-off, likely perpetrated by a tourist. But Trinity wasn't convinced. Determined to do better for other victims, she left town and settled in Vancouver, rising through the ranks to become a detective. But now, an unexpected phone call from her former lover has her barreling down the highway to face the past.

After a harrowing experience in her childhood town, Detective Trinity Calhoun has at last been cleared to return to her job at the Vancouver PD—but with a caveat. Her boss insists that she eases back into it by being chained to a desk. Trinity understands the request. She knows it's reasonable. But that doesn't mean she likes it. Or will abide by it. And the desk, it seems, is the last place she can be. Because someone is stalking her. Baiting her. Using her long-solved domestic abuse cases to draw her out.

Detective Trinity Calhoun's closest friend was due back weeks ago from his undercover operation, and the last thing she wants to do is take a trip. Not even to attend a high-profile conference at a swanky hotel on a beautiful island with all expenses paid. But with her boss counting on her, Trinity sets aside her misgivings and goes. Except from the moment she sets foot on the ferry, something feels . . . off. First comes a man who's far too interested in her. Then Trinity swears she's spotted her late-to-return friend. And someone is definitely planting breadcrumbs for her.
