A deeply seductive and suspenseful saga of star-crossed love - between mortal Bella Swan and a brooding vampire, complicated by a jealous werewolf.
Bella Swan is a typical teen until she moves from Phoenix, Arizona to rainy Forks, Washington to live with her father. There, she falls for Edward Cullen, a vampire, while also dealing with her attraction to Jacob Black, a werewolf. Her choice between the otherworldly hunks is crucial: it could set off a battle between the two great rivals’ clans. But it’s far from her only problem. Bella’s association with the supernatural invites frequent - and unwelcome - attention from other powerful forces.
Ilyana Kadushin’s narration leaves nothing to be desired. Her voice delicately guides listeners through the struggles of a love triangle alongside growing tensions with unearthly powers and dangers. The inner thoughts of Bella Swan are brought to life with Kadushin’s elegant delivery and musical voice, keeping the story flowing chapter after chapter.
Twilight was Stephenie Meyer’s breakout success as an author. Each of the four books in the Twilight series draws inspiration loosely from a classic work of literature, including Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights, and Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream. Meyer also states that L. M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables and Orson Scott Card are some of her literary influences. She has gone on to publish other works, both spin-offs of the series and standalone novels, including The Chemist, a spy thriller.
Stephenie Meyer’s unusual coming-of-age stories have won passionate fans and inspired blockbuster movies. The fourth book in the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, won the 2008 British Book Award for Children's Book of the Year and the whole series together won the 2009 Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Book. The Twilight Saga has sold over 100 million copies.
