The Resonance Cycle

Half the world was a mistake. She was the correction. Elara Vance is a brilliant, overlooked microbiology student with a jagged heart and a terrifying specialty: the genetic deconstruction of the male sex. Driven by a lifetime of systemic trauma and a radicalized belief that the "noise" of the patriarchy is a biological infection, she engineers the Vance-1 Strain—a molecular scythe designed to target and "unzip" the Y chromosome. It was supposed to be a surgical strike. It became a global erasure.

Twenty years have passed since the Vance Virus—the "Great Thinning"—erased the Y-chromosome from the genetic map, leaving a world of ash and a humanity consisting only of women. In the ruins of London, a generation has grown up in the Architecture of Silence, a clinical, sterile world where the memory of men is a ghost story and the future is a flickering candle. Rhea, a scavenger born into the grey soot, carries more than just supplies. In her blood, she hosts the Resonance—a high-frequency biological mutation that is the only key to the Shield Protocols.

The Silence was a forty-year lie. The Hunger is the final truth. For four decades, the world has belonged to the women. After Elara Vance’s viral "Silence" erased the male sex, humanity rebuilt itself in the image of peace. The Republic of Neo-Genoa and the New York Archive rose as monuments to a world without "friction." But the cradle was always a cage. Now, the first generation of synthetic men—the "New Men"—has reached maturity. It was supposed to be the dawn of a restored species. Instead, it is the trigger for the Vance Fail-Safe.
