The Eterra Cycle

The Last Architect of EterraBook One of The Eterra CycleBeneath the iron tiers of Eterra, in the starving dark below the city’s polished heights, survival is not a right. It is a ration. Aelit has spent her life hiding what she is. In the lowest levels of the Megapolis, where children disappear, workers vanish into dust-choked corridors, and obedience is enforced with mechanical cruelty, one mistake is enough to condemn a person forever.

What happens when a society decides that survival depends on narrowing the truth? In the towering prison-city of Eterra, order is maintained not through spectacle or open brutality, but through clean hands, quiet rooms, and the careful rationing of reality. Truth is never simply forbidden. It is measured, softened, corrected, and distributed only in forms the population can survive. Seran has been raised to believe in that system. A rising young doctrinal officer, Seran is disciplined, intelligent, and disturbingly good at his work.

The sky above Eterra was never real. For generations, the people of the city believed the Dome was their shield, their prison, and their proof that nothing existed beyond the world they had been allowed to see. But the lie is breaking. The false heavens are beginning to crack, ancient systems are stirring beneath the ruins, and something far older than the city itself has started to wake. Aelit survived the descent into the buried depths of Eterra, but survival has changed her.

The Ethereal God is dead. But the world it ruled was never meant to survive without it. After the fall of the false divinity that controlled the Megacity, Aelit and her allies discover a truth far more dangerous than tyranny: freedom was never safe. The Dome is no longer a lie. The sky has opened. The stars are real.

In the gleaming vertical city of Eterra, beauty is not decoration—it is doctrine. White corridors curve beneath false heavens. Stars burn in mathematically perfect constellations. Every surface is polished, every voice measured, every truth sealed beneath layers of civic silence. For generations the ruling regime has hidden a living force beneath the living crust of their world: an ancient, breathing presence so vast that their ancestors chose to build an entire civilization as its cage.

The sky has opened. For the first time in living memory, the people of Eterra have seen the truth above them—and the truth is more terrible than the lie. Aelit and her companions shattered the ancient lock that held their world in darkness. They broke the Dome, destroyed the governing power of Sector Zero, and gave the buried city its first glimpse of the stars. But freedom does not arrive gently.

Before Eterra was a prison-world of iron, silence, and buried memory, there was Thalerys. Thalerys, the Blue Motherworld, was a radiant civilization of crystal seas, floating cities, open heavens, and living harmony between mind, matter, and world. Its people, the Ancient Elders, had mastered the great arts of resonance, architecture, and memory. For ages they believed beauty, wisdom, and balance would endure.
