Mick Delaney, a retired FBI agent, working cases for understaffed police departments takes on a baffling case in Powell, Wyoming. Harry Thornton, a local rancher, was shot and killed in front of his barn. He was well liked, had no enemies, yet someone shot him down in cold blood right in his front yard. Why? What was the motive? His marriage was solid. There was not sign of jealous lovers. His valuables were taken but who shows up at a barnyard with a robbery motive? There had to be a reason but it was hidden. Mick eventually figures it out with the help of a local deputy, Sharon Carter. See if you can finger the killer before they do.
