Kranti is the story of a girl born into a brothel whose mother, Nayna, was sold to the kotha of Buddho Bai and had been brutalized and beaten by the demonic Nagre Sahib. She only knew the Kotha Life and ends up giving birth to Kranti. Her daughter grows up with the love of many aunts and a Hijra called Noora who buys her toys and books. Kranti has one dream: to be a top cop and get out of her current quagmire. She wants to protect her Mon and the inhabitants of the Kotha and in turn restore law and order in the chaotic crime-infested area of Lal Nagar.
