Popular recovery speaker Mary Pearl T talks about relationships and relates them, often humorously, to the traditions. Lots of great stories. Great fun.

Two great speakers alternate back and forth, talking about AA. They each tell a short version of their stories. Then, they talk about the Washingtonians, Dr. Carl Jung, and Rowland Hazard. The history of AA is talked about as the spiritual roots of AA. They talk about sponsorship and taking the steps. There are lots of stories and experiences in the fellowship.

The formatting will help listeners keep track of what they have listened to and find their place when they resume listening or are looking for a subject or section. For efficient use by AA groups and members, the Big Book studies are divided into chapters, which are given meaningful titles based on subject - which often is the section of the Big Book under discussion.

This was a momentous occasion. First, Bill officially transfers the leadership of AA to the General Service Conference. Then he introduces Lois, who speaks for almost 10 minutes. Then Bill Introduces Ebby who speaks briefly. And then Bill Introduces Sister Ignatia. She says some nice things and invokes God's blessing on AA and everyone AA touches. Bill Tells his story and the story of AA from the beginning.

He likens spiritual awakening to waking up for the day. Our Old ideas are similar to the dream world of sleep. Sobriety and spirituality are the real world we wake up to. He talks about spiritual awakening in historic terms. How Rowland Hazard found out from Dr. Carl Jung that he would need a spiritual awakening to recover from alcoholism. Sandy talks at length about Dr. Carl Jung and the importance of spirituality for happiness, contentment, and sobriety.

In telling his recovery story, Chuck weaves into it the topic of surrender. He talks about his drinking and descent into alcoholism. His complete powerlessness to either control his drinking or stop for good. How he got sober and then learned to rely on his Higher Power through surrender.

This talk is very general, and is relevant to all sorts of addictions. As a recovery speaker, Bob Earll was sort of a Swiss Army knife. His message fit Alcoholics Anonymous, as well as Adult Children of Alcoholics. Though an Alcoholic, the drug addiction part of his alcoholism enabled him to speak to Narcotics Anonymous. This talk is at a Cocaine Anonymous event, and his opiate use would have qualified him to speak to Heroin Anonymous.

Wynn Laws is the author of the Big Book Story: Freedom from Bondage, 4th Edition on Page 544. This recording is very much in the spirit of her story in Big Book, but much more, she gives more detail and tells other stories about sobriety. She talks about her institutional work. Wynn pioneered work in California women's prisons. At the time of this talk (1973), her mother is living with her. Her mother is the person she had the difficulty removing resentment against. At the time of talk, they were happily living together.

First Earl tells his story - It's pretty wild and people laugh, a lot. Earl H Topic Talks - enjoyable upbeat plenty of Rule 62, Earl talks about each of the 12 steps in order and share his experience strength and hope. Exciting Fun AA - Earl is never dull.

Recovery from growing up with dysfunctional adults as parents. One concept is, the things you used to survive as a kid are ruining your life as an adult. Overcome poor self image, find your authentic self, heal your soul, and become the person you want to be.

Finding renewal in recovery - let go of old habits and attitudes welcome new understanding and enjoyments about moving on from past to a new life in sobriety. An enjoyable and uplifting spiritual retreat - also very good for Al-Anon recovery.

This is recovery in Alanon. Mary Pearl T is a hoot with a powerful recovery message. She tells lots of great stories showing how alcoholism in others made her very ill. How she got well in Alanon. How she repaired her relationship with her mother by making amends. Some stories about getting active in Alanon service and sponsorship. This is a very high quality recovery message. Enjoyable, funny, and very helpful.

Sister Bea was born in Ireland and came to Southern California in 1964 This talk is very lighthearted and funny, but there is a very powerful message at the heart of the retrospective humor. She discovered Margaritas when a marvelous host prepared them for her and the sisters at an outing. Right from the start, she did not drink like other people, especially the other sisters. How her alcoholism progressed, and then how she found AA.

A good retreat for someone needing to not take themselves too seriously. Has some very humorous parts. Enjoying the quirks, hang ups, and nutty things people, including ourselves, do that irritate us.

This talk by Sam Shoemaker begins with a brief history of AA told by Sam. It contains some things which only Rev. Sam Shoemaker could tell correctly. Sam was the preeminent Oxford Group leader in the US at the time Bill Wilson and Ebby T. were affiliated with it. The mission that Ebby was livening and working at during his pivotal meetings with Bill around the time Bill sobered for life was a branch of Sam's church.

In this topical talk about the family and alcoholism, the effects of alcoholism on the members of the family, and on the family as a whole, and the healing effects of sobriety and a program of recovery are discussed.
